Fantabulous Friday - Florals Embellished

Hello and welcome to Fantabulous Friday! I'm so happy to have you join us today!
Ahhh....spring is in the air (at least here in the deep south) and we've been having such
fun here at FCCB with this week's Cricut Crawl and weekly challenge!
In case you missed our Cricut Crawl, you can see all the great projects by our Design Team HERE.
You also have time to enter this week's challenge...
Create project using the three colors pink, green & yellow.
Remember, there needs to be at least one Cricut cut on your project!
So...thinking about spring and spring colors started me thinking about flowers.
With flowers in mind, choosing a cartridge to explore this week was pretty simple. I headed straight for my Florals Embellished cartridge! This is a beautiful cartridge that is just full of lovely spring time images such as birds, flowers and butterflies. And the layers...oh...my...the layers are just something else!

Here are the Creative Features on this cartridge...
*Layer 1
*Layer 2
*Silhouette
*Silhouette Blackout
*Phrase
*Shadow

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me show you how beautifully the layers on this cartridge go together.
My first project is a card featuring the bird on page 69 of your handbook...
This cut was made at 3 1/2 inches.
I cut the bottom layer twice and use pop dots for dimension.
Here is a better look at all those luscious layers....
One tip when working with this cartridge...
remember the old carpenter's tip..."measure twice, cut once"?
When you get your cuts made..."layer twice, glue once"!
There are a lot of layers on each cut and it's easy to get them out of order when gluing them down
(don't ask me how I know)! Make sure you have them in the right order before you actually use your adhesive...trust me on this one!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next I decided to try a layout using some of these gorgeous cuts...
Page 1....
The butterfly is from page 64 and cut at 2 1/2 inches.
The flower is found on page 39 and is cut at 3 1/2 inches
Page 2....
That gorgeous bird is from page 63 and I cut it at 3 inches.
The flower at the bottom of this page is found on page 29 and is cut at 3 inches.
The phrase "Amazing" is found on page 39 and I cut this at 1 1/2 inches.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So...just in case you're thinking that this cartridge is too girly or too frilly for you,
take a look at my next card....
I guess you could call this one "Florals Unembellished"!
Using the same bird as in the layout above, I used the Silhouette and Silhoutte Blackout
Features to create a totally different look. This version has no embellishments other than
a bit of ink around the edges and I love the way it turned out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I guess that wraps up this week's Fantabulous Friday.
I hope you enjoyed our exploration of Florals Embellished! I really love this cartridge.
If you have any creations with this lovely cartridge that you would like to share, leave a comment
on this post with a link to your project and I'll drop by for a visit!

Until next time,
