Quick Tip Tuesday: Cricut Handbooks

Happy Tuesday everyone, and welcome to another Quick Tip Tuesday! Today I'm going to share with you a quick tip about Cricut cartridge handbooks.

I love Tags, Bags, Boxes and More but I wasn't using it as often as I should. I don't have the actual cartridge, just the free download that was offered when I purchased my Gypsy last year. The reason I didn't use it much is because it's hard to see what's available just looking at the Gypsy screen. I found the solution to my problem on the Cricut.com website. If you go to their cartridge library, you will find downloads available of several cartridge handbooks, including TBBM.
Once the TBBM handbook downloaded, it was ready to be printed. I didn't want all the extra information in the handbook, just the cover and the pages with the images. So I scrolled down the document to find the first page of the images - 82 - and the last page - 131. When you bring up the print box, click the pages button and insert the pages you want to print: 1, 82-131.
Under page scaling, you want to choose Multiple pages per sheet. On the pages per sheet, you can customize how many pages you want on each sheet of paper. The above example is customized to 1 x 2. You could also customize to 1 x 4 or 2 x 2 or 2 x 4:
1 x 2 is nice because you can really see the images, but only two fit on one page. 2 x 4 worked really well for me. You can still see the images and since 8 pages fit on each sheet of paper, the entire handbook printed in 7 pages! Once they printed, I inserted the pages in 8 1/2 x 11 clear plastic page protectors and put them in a binder. I did this for all of the free cartridges that came with my Gypsy for easy reference. I added tabs to quickly find the cart I'm looking for. Some day when I have a bit of free time, I am going to print out all of the handbooks for the carts I have and then I will have it within easy reach whenever I need to find an image!

I hope this tip was helpful to you! Thanks so much for stopping by today and I wish you all a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends!

  6. I did kinda the same thing with ALL of my cartridges, except I downloaded them to my iPad. Now, when I want to see what's on a cartridge, I can just pull out my iPad and see it in a good size, and I can look at images when I'm out and about.

  8. Thanks for sharing this idea. I go to the same place at Cricut.com and download the sample pages. Then I place them in a binder so I can at least get an idea of what's on the cart without taking out the book. I've even written the phrase under the picture if the cart has phrases or mark the page if the cart has a font besides images. I love my binder for planning.
    Hugs,

    1. Shop, Cricket Image Library: http://www.cricut.com/shopping/products-Cricut-Image-Library-183.aspx

then click on the cartridge you want, then under the picture of the cart click "Details" then scroll down and you will see "Digital Handbook."

You'll have to do this for each cart you want.
