Spotlight Sunday

Hello Fantabulous Friends! Happy Sunday to you all!

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday. Today and next Sunday, I will be spotlighting the new Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Design Team members. Since we have eleven new Designers, this week I will be spotlighting four of our new Design Team members.

Let's get to know each one a little bit and catch a glimpse of some of the projects on their blogs.

First, we have Beckie from Just Be Creative Crazy.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I have crafted in some way on and off my whole life. I cross-stitch, crochet, sew, decorate cakes, and some floral stuff too. I love crafts. When the Cricut first came out I really wanted one, but I only allowed myself to purchase one in September of this year. I'm pretty new to the paper crafting world, but I am in love!!

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)
Being new to the scene, I have really only made cards and boxes. However, I am venturing out and hope to be displaying some mini-albums and other types of paper crafts very soon. Though I can say, right now, I really love making banners. I have made several of those for friends and my home, as well as, for a recent hop where the banners are donated to the Pediatric Specialty Facility in PA.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
Right now, I'm loving several products. I can't make it without my Zig glue pen! I love my Xyron sticker maker, and I'm always looking for an opportunity to go Stickle crazy!

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
My favorite cartridge right now is Doodlecharms. I love all the cuts, and they are so versatile. Usually if I'm looking for a cart, I go to Doodlecharms.

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
Spare time...HAHA, what's that? Spare time is when I do my crafting. I'm a Manufacturing Engineer by occupation and have a very active 5-year-old daughter. My husband is very supportive though; he helps me out when he can because he knows how much I love crafting.

I am so very super excited to be a part of the FCCB Design Team. I followed the blog before I was a DT member, and I think it offers a lot to crafters of all skill levels. All the senior members are very nice and helpful. I can learn so much from them. All the new DT members, with me, are wonderful and very talented. I'm very much looking forward to working with everyone and looking forward to seeing all the projects linked-up.

Now let's take a look at a couple of Beckie's projects on her blog.

Look at that cute spider on this Halloween card. I love the embossing and Stickles.

This is a lovely easel card in pinks and greens.

Thank you Becky!

Next we have Charlotte from A Little Bit of Detail.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I cannot remember when I was not doing some kind of paper crafting. When I was a child I loved making paper dolls. And I have always enjoyed piddling in different art mediums. When Creative Memories came on the scene, I hopped on like everyone else making scrapbooks and loved every minute of it. But soon I found out that my sister was expecting a baby girl. Well, I continued scrapbooking for a while. But I had to give it up due to the time factor involved. I was spending my time sewing and smocking for my niece. Well, she is now in high school and I have been told that my sewing is not needed now. So I wasted no time getting back to paper crafting.
I am also a kindergarten teacher of 30+ years so I sort of think of myself as a professional paper crafter. We are creating with paper every day in my class and I love it! As my favorite poster says The "earth" without "art" is just "eh".

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)
I really enjoy making cards. And I have made a few banners that were fun. I have a Cricut Expression in my classroom so I am always using it to make things for my classroom.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
I love using a lot of ink on my projects. And anytime I can use some kind of fiber, that is just great too.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
My very favorite is French Manor. I love all things French and Country French is my favorite of decorating. It is just my style.

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
I enjoy sewing, reading, browsing around antique shops, going to the theater and musical productions. and also spending time with my family and friends. But, most of all I love to laugh and it doesn't take much to get me laughing.

Now for some of Charlotte's projects from her blog.

I love this sweet Get Well Card Charlotte made for a little boy.

Can you tell I love pink and green?! The card is so pretty with its delicate flowers and ribbon.

Thanks Charlotte!

Now let's hop over to Jamie from Scrap Queen.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I started in college about 13 years ago. A friend of mine had been going to a regular Creative Memories workshops and talked me into going with her one night. About two hours later I was hooked and have been scrapping ever since. I loved working with paper and it felt like a productive hobby. It made looking back at pictures far more interesting. You could actually tell the story using stickers, journaling, etc. Not to mention it was a great reason for friends to get together!

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)?
Layouts would be my favorite type of project, however, lately I have really enjoyed both card making and mini albums! I feel like I'm in this learning mode. I've been devouring all the ideas I've been finding on blogs and You Tube, then trying to create the projects myself.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
Umm the Cricut, it's turned on at least once a day :) Otherwise, there really isn't a favorite anything because I like it so much. I will say that my favorite product is my Scotch Advanced Tape Glider, my current favorite embellishment is Stickles, and my newest favorite tool is my heat embosser.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
This is definitely a difficult question. Storybook is an all time favorite, but I probably use George the most. Looking at my blog it looks like it's tied with Create a Critter and A Child's Year. Definitely a difficult question, I own a lot of cartridges and haven't explored them all yet!

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
I enjoy watching television or playing games with my husband or reading a good book. All of which occurs after the kids go to bed. I belong to three different MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) groups. Two traditional and then I'm on the leadership team for our local Teen Mops group. I also do the women's Bible study at our church which has been completely fascinating considering we are doing an inductive study of 1st and 2nd Peter right now. Basically, I do too much so the spare time is limited!

Any other information you would like us to know about you?
I'm very excited to be on the Fantabulous Cricut Blog Design Team! This is such an awesome blog with so many talented paper crafters! I really believe that the best way to learn is from challenging yourself which makes challenge blogs so valuable in my book!

Now let's peek at a couple of projects from Jamie's blog.

Look at all of these fun favors Jamie made for her friend's bridal shower. Wow!

This is a very fun girly card. I love how the lady image is welded to the side of the card.

And last, but definitely not least, we have Lisa from A Mermaid's Crafts.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I have always loved crafting, but I got hooked on the craft shows that DIY and HGTV used to air about nine years ago. I tried several different mediums, with polymer clay being my favorite, until I discovered Cricut. Then my craft focus completely changed to paper crafts...mostly cards.

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)?
Cards, because I always need them for something and I like having a stash I can go to for any occasion. Plus, I don't have much time to craft and cards are the quickest for me to make.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
I love to add gems and ribbon, but my favorite would be foam tape. I love to add dimension to my projects!

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
Oh my gosh, that is such a hard question! I guess I would have to say either Flower Shoppe or Elegant Edges, but it changes constantly!

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
I am a writer so I will either be writing or reading. I also love to spend time with my family and friends, and to travel.

Any other information you would like us to know about you?
I am so thankful for the amazing people I have met since I started by blog in March. I have made some truly wonderful friends and I am inspired daily by the incredible talent there is out there!

Here are some peeks from Lisa's blog.

This is such a sweet card with the tea pot, tea cup, and clock. I love the soft colors.

I love the vintagy flair on this card, so pretty.

Thank you so much Beckie, Charlotte, Jaime, and Lisa for sharing your talents with FCCB! We are so excited to have you on the Design Team.

Now, tomorrow is a BIG day at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, because it is our Harvest Cricut Crawl! We will have projects from all of our Design Team members and you will get to play along in the Cricut Crawl. Don't know what a Cricut Crawl is? It is FCCB's version of a blog hop!

So make sure to come back tomorrow to see what our Harvest Cricut Crawl Challenge will be!

Happy Crafting!
