Spotlight Sunday!

I would like to introduce our first Guest Designer for September!

MELISSA  "Sunshine HoneyBee"

You may recognize Melissa's work from the weekly challenges she has participated in. You can check out Melissa's blog at Created by Sunshine HoneyBeeMelissa's family recently adopted a female Lab/Retriever Mix 7 yrs old named Daisy. If you look thru her posts you will find some adorable pictures of the new dog! Now let's get to know Melissa a little better.  Melissa lives in Plano, Texas which is approximately 15 miles North of Dallas.  She has a wonderful hubby and a very talented daughter who graduated in May 2014 with a degree in Art Animation/Art History from college. She enjoy's calligraphy, crochet, photography & many other crafts.  I have noticed that Melissa has played along with a number of our challenges so I know she knows her way around the cricut machine!

Here are some examples of projects from Melissa's blog that really stood out to me.

This is a romantic 3D Wedding Box card Project that Melissa used her Gypsy to weld the rings from the Sweethearts cartridge.

I love the cute little apple that is on this card!  It was made with the Doodlecharm's Cricut Cartridge.

Look at this cute little bee card!  It was made with the Pooh and Friends cartridge.  She also used her gypsy to weld the card shape together!

Lastly I could not resist sharing this adorable scrapbook layout showing a nice picture of Daisy!  Melissa used the Mickey & Friends Cricut cartridge to make the paw prints!

I asked Melissa the following questions and here are her replies.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/papercrafting and why?
I started scrapbooking  & papercrafting before my daughter was born 20+ yrs ago, I have done both digital scrapbooking & regular scrapbooking.

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc.)?
I like to make holiday projects; especially cards.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
My fav product to use would be a couple of things: foam adhesive, distress inks & Kraft cardstock.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
I have a couple of favs: Doodlecharms, Life Is A Beach, Artbooking, Art Philosophy, Artiste. Recently Pooh & Friends has become a fav and I’ve been making BEEs from it.

  1. This BEE is happy to bee a Guest Designer at Fantabulous Cricut this wk. Celebrated 1 month adoption from shelter of Daisy yesterday Sat 9/6. Daisy likes her morning walks, running in our backyard around the greenhouse, fetching a stick & can now get treats out of a kong toy. When we first got Daisy she did not run, did not play much, did not know what toys were let alone a stick and had no idea how to get treat out of a kong toy. Yesterday, I put treats in a fire hydrant kong toy and left it with her. She figured after some time how to put her paw on the fire hydrant kong toy and get the treats out. I'm so glad to have Daisy in our family.
