Happy Thursday everyone!
Here is a common question I see surrounding the Cricut Expression...
What is the Center Point feature?
The answer is "This feature enables the user to accurately position the blade over the center of a desired area (photos, etc.) in preparation for the cut" (from Cricut.com).
The main reason you'd want to use the Centerpoint function is to cut something out that is already printed, like photos, pre-printed journaling or to cut a shape in a particular place on your paper.
Photos: Place a pre-printed photo onto your Cricut mat, position the blade over the center of the photo, and use the Centerpoint funtion to cut out a shape, with the photo being centered within the shape.
Pre-printed Journaling: Pre-print your journaling into a shape (using a word processing program) like a cirlce or oval, and use the Centerpoint function to center the blade over the journling so it's centered when the shape is cut.
Patterned Paper: If you have a piece of patterned paper and want to cut out one of the designs in the paper, or you want to cut out a large shape in the center of a piece of carstock and use it as a frame, you can use the Centerpoint funtion to position the blade in your desired location and cut it out, leaving the rest of the sheet intact.

ReplyDeleteGreat videos Tammy! Thanks so much I now know I can use these features.
ReplyDeletethanks for that tutorial! I am wondering if you can combine the center point feature with the "page fill" feature or something like that. I want to make label stickers for my home business. So I am curious if I used a label template in Word to print the name of my business multiple times on a page. Can I some how set up the cricut to to center each word inside a shape and cut it repeatedly? Or do I have to do each one manually? Thanks! I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
