Most of the time our scrapbook pages celebrate the people in our lives, but sometimes we need to capture the "things" in our lives, too. As we celebrate the holidays, think about the things that are special to you. Do you have a favorite family tradition? a recipe that you always make for the holidays? a favorite ornament or holiday decoration? Maybe a family story that's always told at holiday gatherings? My challenge is to create a layout that captures one of these holiday traditions or items that has special meaning to you or your family. Just two requirements - include some journaling and at least one Cricut cut.
My page showcases a holiday decoration that's very special to me. My son bought this for me at the school Santa Shop when he was in 1st grade. I can remember how proud he was when he gave me a present he picked out all by himself. Every year since then, this Santa bear has been on my mantel at Christmas. After 24 Christmases, it's a little worn, but still just as treasured.
You have until midnight, December 31st, to post a comment on this thread, with a link to your layout. I'll use a random number generator to pick someone to win a little scrappy goodness from me. :) Looking forward to seeing your holiday pages!
Brenda
I love the layering affect of your page, and it's true we don't often stop to think about the things we treasure so much, weather it's the memories that og with it or something else, thanks for the reminder!

Someone told me that she wouldn't be putting up decorations this year, no kids home, too much work. I love the tradition of the tree and ornaments, one for each year we've been married and one for each of our children. I won't quit for a long time yet! I love your bear. Those are the things that are special.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful idea! There are things I used to have that I would love to look back on now! Thanks for the GREAT idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you for causing me to stop & think about so many wonderful & special Christmas treasures in my life. I realize I could make a whole album of these special things.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little bear... a true treasure! I love all the things my girls have made or purchased (at the Dollar Store) over the years, they truly are the BEST gifts we receive! Happy Holidays!

thanks for the challenge - i've started trying to do this recently! very important to document.
ReplyDeleteyour page is very attractive. I agree it is very important to document things as well as people. I have a tassel fairy mobile that I got for Christmas when I was a bout 10 and still put it up every year. Its a bit battered, but I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the challenge - I think I know what I am going to do now!
Awww... Your layout brings back memories when my kids would shop at Santas Secret Shop at school. They were so proud of the items that they picked out! Some of the things they bought, you'd just have to smile realllly big and say, "isn't this so nice!!!!"
