Quick Tip Tuesday: My Cut Search

Generated image

Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday! With so many Cricut cartridges available these days, it is often difficult to remember what image is from which cartridge. Also, there are lots of images that I don't even realize that I have - gems hidden on the various layers of my cartridges.  To find images, I use My Cut Search ALL the time.  (*Note, the site was previously CricutSearch.com but has just switched names.)  Instead of flipping through my handbooks or waiting for the Gypsy search to load (I find it's slow and a pain to use), I simply enter my search criteria at My Cut Search.  Results are returned quickly and tell me not only which cartridges have that image, but also provide the page number in the handbook on which those images are found.  Also, with each search result, pages from the handbook can be viewed and even enlarged to get a better look.  There are also arrow keys providing different ways to scroll through the results, too.  My Cut Search is a wonderful tool that leaves me with more time to craft - and allows me to find the best image from my projects.

My Cut Search also contains files corresponding to Imagine cartridges.  If you use the Advanced Search option (found under "Main Menu" in the top left of the site), you can select "album" to find backgrounds used with the Imagine cartridges.

You can also follow My Cut Search on Facebook to receive updates and information and subscribe to their newsletter for tips.

Next Tuesday, I will provide you with a few more quick tips to using My Cut Search.

Happy crafting!

  1. Awesome...TFS! As I get older, my eyesight doesn't always allow for me to see the simplest details in the handbook. Gonna check out MCS now.
