Spotlight Sunday

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are having a great week. I hope you have taken the time this week to see the great projects. It doesn't even seem like the 4th yet because we haven't had our fireworks yet. Well tonight is the night, can't wait. Now on with our spotlight. The spotlight is on Paula Bee at craftwithbee. She does some amazing work check her blog out if you haven't already. She took a top 5 win with this layout.

Here are some other amazing projects I found when I was visiting her blog.

It is hard to pick just a few projects, they are all so beautifully done.

Like I said, she does some amazing work. We asked her some questions so everyone could get to know better. Here they are:

When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I started scrapbooking when I was in high school.  I didn't do anything real fancy then, but I wanted something more than just photos in an album.  So, I started adding captions and titles to my pages and eventually started adding small embellishments.  However, I really got into scrapbooking shortly after I got married when I got my first Cricut.  I soon discovered cardmaking and other types of papercrafting and have been hooked ever since.  I just love being able to take a piece of paper and turn it into something spectacular.

What is your favorite type of project to make?
I love making pretty much anything, but cards are at the top of that list!  I still love making scrapbook albums and layouts, but they take a little longer for me to put together so I make cards most of the time.  I have recently been getting into making home decor as well.

What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
If you don't count the Cricut, then I LOVE using Stickles, glitter, and glossy accents.  I love adding sparkle and shine to projects and just about every project I create has one or the other (or both) on them.  They all tend to add that perfect little pop on a project.  I also really love using my Cuttlebug to emboss backgrounds and parts of cuts, I just love the added dimension that embossing creates.

What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
Hmm....that is a hard one, there are so many cartridges that I love (and have).  I think one of my favorites is Campin' Critters, I absolutely love the adorable images!  I just don't use it often enough.  Another one that I love, but don't use often enough is Art Nouveau, those images are just beautiful!  I also love Create a Critter....but then again, who doesn't?

What do you do in your spare time, when you are not papercrafting?
My husband and I love to camp and go kayaking.  We just recently got our first camper and we each have our own kayak, so if we can find a campground on a lake we are in heaven.  I also love to read, cross stitch and hang out with my adorable little Welsh Corgi.  However, most of my free time is spent papercrafting.  I actually love crafting so much that I actually work at a craft store, maybe you have heard of it....JoAnn Fabric and Crafts?  ;)  I have been working for JoAnn for about three years now, at two different stores.  I started out at the store in Fairbanks, AK and I now work at the one in St. Cloud, MN.  If you ever happen to be in St. Cloud, MN then stop on in to our store to say hi!  :)

Any other information you would like us to know about you?
I love playing soccer.  I started playing when I was little, played on recreational leagues through college and then on a women's league for a few years.  I did until I moved to St. Cloud, I haven't found an adult league down here to play on yet and I have to say that I really miss it.  I also am a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  I also just want to add a big thank you to the wonderful ladies at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog for this amazing opportunity to be a guest designer!

Thank you Paula Bee for letting us here at the FCCB spotlight you today. Wow, how exciting to work in a craft store especially one like JoAnn Fabrics. The only problem I can see with that is I wouldn't bring home a paycheck. I would spent it all before going home. Well I told you she does some amazing work. If you get a change stop by her blog and show her some love I am sure you will be inspired. Now don't forget to stop back tomorrow for a new Challenge Me Monday. Paula Bee is our guest designer and I am sure you will be inspired again. Have a great Sunday!

Happy Crafting,
