Happy Thanksgiving and Thursday Tutorial- It's all about being thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving to all from Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. Hope you are all having a great turkey day with your family and friends.
This week as you know the Theme at FCCB is Thanks or thankful and there are some great Design Team projects as well as entries in the challenge this week. I hope if you have time in this busy week that you will take time to stop by and see the projects as well as enter one of your own.

Today I would like to share a wonderful tutorial for a Thanksgiving card from one of the blogs I follow Crafting with Katie. Check out the link and you will find out how to make this card with the Imagine and Word Collage. Now I can't wait to get my Word Collage cart out and try printing it with my Imagine.

The other two ideas I will admit are from Pinterest. I tried for a long time to resist starting Pinterest but I will admit I am so glad I finally gave in. I get so many amazing ideas and these are two I really liked.
The first link is for 14 different thank you ideas from Tip Junkie. Although they were not made with a die cutting machine many could be adapted to cut out with your machine.

The third idea is these wonderful Mini thank yous from Court's Crafts Blog. Don't you love the bright colors with the twine and buttons to match? Simple yet so cute and would be great for using small scraps.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget the challenge this week at FCCB.

Wednesday Winners #86

Good Morning Fantabulous Friends!

I hope everybody has been having a Fantabulous week so far.  I apologize for my tardiness this morning!  Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving?  (In the States anyways?) ;)  I hope everyone has a wonderful day either way and gets the chance to be with friends, family, and loved ones.  This year my hubby and I will be alone.  At first I was pretty sad about that, but then I got to thinking... hey, we can have a good holiday anyways!  So we are going to go see a holiday movie at the matinee and go for a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at a nice restaurant.  Both of those things we no longer do because of my illness, so I'm making a real effort to make it a good holiday! ;0)  We, at FCCB, would love to hear about your plans!  Leave us a comment and tell us how you will be spending the holiday or even just what you are thankful for.

Another announcement I have today is that we will be picking our 2000 follower winners soon!  There are some amazing sponsors and prizes to be given.  Please check back the celebration!

Alright, onto our winners for the "Harvest Blessings Cricut Crawl" challenge from last week.  I am AMAZED at how many entries we had at this busy time of the year!  Thank you so much for all your participation.  We really appreciate it and hope you all had a great time making your projects.  If you missed out, you will definitely want to check out all the projects from the DT and our entrants -HERE.

Quick Tip Tuesday: Cricut Handbooks

Happy Tuesday everyone, and welcome to another Quick Tip Tuesday! Today I'm going to share with you a quick tip about Cricut cartridge handbooks.

I love Tags, Bags, Boxes and More but I wasn't using it as often as I should. I don't have the actual cartridge, just the free download that was offered when I purchased my Gypsy last year. The reason I didn't use it much is because it's hard to see what's available just looking at the Gypsy screen. I found the solution to my problem on the Cricut.com website. If you go to their cartridge library, you will find downloads available of several cartridge handbooks, including TBBM.
Once the TBBM handbook downloaded, it was ready to be printed. I didn't want all the extra information in the handbook, just the cover and the pages with the images. So I scrolled down the document to find the first page of the images - 82 - and the last page - 131. When you bring up the print box, click the pages button and insert the pages you want to print: 1, 82-131.
Under page scaling, you want to choose Multiple pages per sheet. On the pages per sheet, you can customize how many pages you want on each sheet of paper. The above example is customized to 1 x 2. You could also customize to 1 x 4 or 2 x 2 or 2 x 4:
1 x 2 is nice because you can really see the images, but only two fit on one page. 2 x 4 worked really well for me. You can still see the images and since 8 pages fit on each sheet of paper, the entire handbook printed in 7 pages! Once they printed, I inserted the pages in 8 1/2 x 11 clear plastic page protectors and put them in a binder. I did this for all of the free cartridges that came with my Gypsy for easy reference. I added tabs to quickly find the cart I'm looking for. Some day when I have a bit of free time, I am going to print out all of the handbooks for the carts I have and then I will have it within easy reach whenever I need to find an image!

I hope this tip was helpful to you! Thanks so much for stopping by today and I wish you all a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends!

Spotlight Sunday

Hello Fantabulous Friends and Happy Sunday!

Did you all enjoy the Harvest Cricut Crawl? I sure did and I loved seeing everyone's projects!

Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? I cannot believe how quickly the time passes between Halloween and Thanksgiving. I say that every year and it seems to just come faster and faster each year!

Today we are spotlighting more of our new FCCB Design Team Members. Since two of our new DT members were spotlighting on FCCB a while ago, I am going to add the links so you can see the posts, but  am also going to highlight some of their more recent blog projects.

First, we have Crystal from Little Creations. Let's get to know a bit about Crystal.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?

I started scrapbooking because of my love for photography about 10 yrs ago and it is a funny story because I was only digital and then a friend invited me to a creative memories party and I said " I will go but I am not getting into doing all that cutting and gluing, my digital way is so much better!" Then about 40 minutes into the party I was hooked and having to apologize to my friend!!

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)?
My favorite project to make is still layouts. So many are into all of these new neat things and I love the new things too but when it comes down to why I scrapbook and what I love most it is doing layouts!! I love them!

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
Well, this is somewhat of a toss up because I love love love to ink everything but recently I have really been enjoying the bling stuff like Stickles and then the little adhesive pearls and rhinestones and gems. I have just started with stamps and I am loving it too!!!!

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
Wow, this is a hard question..... I have to say that currently I am loving my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge but Create a Critter and a very close second!! I am thinking these will change eventually, lol!!!

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
Spare time what's that? Just kidding! When I am not paper crafting I homeschool my children, maintain my household and try to hang out with family and friends.

Any other information you would like us to know about you?
If there is any thing else to know about me it is the most important part and that is that I am very devoted to my Lord Jesus!! I believe that we are to love everyone like he loved and in that we will advance his Kingdom!! That's about it ya'll, Thanks!!!!

Now let's take a peek at some of Crystal's projects.

IMG_3906
This is just a great layout. I love the colors and the flowers and flourishes. I also love that there are four pictures on this layout, that is my kind of layout, LOL!

This box is sooooo pretty. Look at how it opens up with a beautiful flower inside.

And look at this diaper cake Crystal made for a baby shower. She used our trusty 'ole Create a Critter cartridge. Too cute!

Next, we will spotlight Faith from Faith Abigail Designs.

You can click on the May 22, 2011 Spotlight Sunday to see Faith's original post.  Here are some more recent projects from Faith's blog.

This school calendar is such a cute idea to keep track of all the events going on at a child(ren)'s school(s). For those of you who have children, you know how hectic all the schedules and events can get!

I love this fun and festive Halloween wreath. The rosettes are such a great touch to the pumpkins and witch images.

This is such a sweet baby album Faith made for a friend. The colors all coordinate so well as the papers come from Momenta. Just precious!

Now let's take a look at Sherrie from Sherrie Scraps with Passion. Here is Sherrie's Spotlight Sunday post from June 12, 2011.

Let's take a look at some of Sherrie's recent projects.

I love this fun Halloween scene Sherrie created on this card, especially the skeleton and cat. Spooky!

Now who doesn't just love Piglet?! This is a great shaped card, so sweet.

This cat just cracks me up! Maybe because I have a cat and totally get the "tude" on this cat's face!

Thank you Crystal, Faith, and Sherrie for inspiring us all! We are so excited to have you on the FCCB Design Team.

Make sure to hop on back tomorrow to see what we have in store for you for Challenge Me Monday! I will give you a little hint...it's Thanksgiving week....hmmmm????

Happy Crafting!

Scrappin' Saturday - Autumn Harvest Layouts

Welcome to Scrappin' Saturday! I love autumn and harvest time, don't you? My favorite thing about this time of year is the changing colors of the leaves. I'm in south Texas and don't get the beautiful displays others see -- but the gorgeous colors on fall layouts are a good substitute!

Today we're featuring two exceptional layouts entered in this week's challenge:

Even though it's summer in her home of New Zealand, Karen used Graphically Speaking and Wild Card cartridges to channel fall with her beautiful layout. How clever is that tree as the T in "autumn"? I love how Karen used her own photos as the square graphic elements -- what a great way to showcase all those leaves' colors!

Candace used Celebrate with Flourish for the elegant leaves on her fun layout. What wonderful papers and colors! I love combining patterns, and Candace does it perfectly with leaves, plaid, swirls, and polka dots. There's even some stitching involved in her super layout.

Did you have some beautiful fall colors in your layouts this week? I'd love to see, so please share in the comments section. Have a happy, scrappy weekend!
