Spotlight Sunday

Hello!  It’s time to meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight designer.

This week we are thrilled to have Marilyn from Who 'Dat Scrapper join us.  Here's a little bit of information from Marilyn:

My name is Marilyn Caro and I want to say that I was thrilled and

honored to be invited as a guest designer this week at the Fantabulous

Cricut Challenge Blog. Love all of the creativity that is shown on this

blog.

I started scrapbooking sometime in 2005 when a friend invited me to

come see what she had. After a couple of years I started making cards

and haven't stopped since. Almost two years ago( June 2012) I wanted

to start a blog and didn't know how to do it I asked my granddaughter

(then 14 years old) if she knew how and she created it

for me and her mother came up with the name.

My favorite type of projects to make are my layouts and cards. If you

look at my blog, most of my projects are cards. I usually do my layouts

when I go to scrapbooking events which is twice a year for me.

My favorite products to use is my ATG gun (which I won at one of my

scrapbooking events) and my Cricut Expression.

My favorite cartridge, that is is hard to say, but if I had to choose one

maybe Create A Critter.

Thursday Tutorial, Understanding CCR layers + 1

Hello Crafting Friends!

Some of you have asked about tutorials understanding a little bit more about Cricut Craft Room. I though for new users it is really important to learn about layering. Here is a video Joy from Obsessed with Scrapbooking shared a while ago, IMHO is the easiest way to understand layering.

Now, here is what I do: I layer following these steps, but for cutting all in one mat, I make sure all my layers are visible and then highlight them all (Ctrl + A) copy them onto a new layer (Ctrl+C)  and arrange them on the mat before cutting. Using the original layers as a reference.
