Fantabulous Friday #20

I have been doing some scrap room organization this past week, and wanted to share a project that I set up for my children. They have some of their own craft supplies in my scrapping space, but it always seems to be a mess. So, while I was at the craft store yesterday, I picked up some plastic scrapping organizers just for the kids! I cut out their names in vinyl, so they each have their own art supply bin. I might have to make a few for myself!

Quick Tip Tuesday: Repurposing Household Items!

Welcome to another "Quick Tip Tuesday" here at FCCB!

Today, I want to share with you a very helpful thread on the Cricut Message Board, on the topic of using/repurposing household items to use in your scrapbooking!

Here's the link: http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=419224

Some of the highlights?

1. Use a rolling pin to help stick paper to less-sticky mats.

2. Use an old mouse pad for paper piercing to protect your work surface.

3. Secure baby wipes to old mats with eyelets to use as stamp cleaners.

4. Use nail files for distressing papers.

5. Use dental floss threaders to pull ribbon through holes.

6. Use a Silpat sheet (made for cooking) for embossing to protect work surface.

7. Use photo protectors to store clear, acrylic stamps.

8. Use an old electric skillet for melting UTEE.

9. Use over the door shoe organizers for storing punches and other supplies.

10. Use zip ties to bind mini albums.

These are just a few of the HUNDREDS of ideas posted there by super-creative and resourceful Cricut users. Go check it out for yourself!

Happy crafting!!!

Scrappin' Saturday: Christmas Layout and Hand-Drawn Face Tutorial

Happy Saturday!

You may remember one of our DT member's, Melinda's, super-cute critter face tutorial over at "Cooking With Cricut" that was featured here at FCCB a couple weeks ago...  Well, I'm very excited to introduce another fabulously-talented lady named Kendra from "Scrappin' Cricut" who also makes the most adorable paper doll faces on her pages!

Kenda has a FANTABULOUS "Christmas in July" layout that I want to share with you in honor of this week's "Christmas in July" challenge theme:

How adorable is that?!?!?  When I saw this layout, I not only noticed the adorable elements and amazing details, I noticed her cute Santa face.  After looking at several more of her layouts, I noticed that all of her page characters have those adorable faces.  Are they stamps?  NO!!!  She hand draws them herself!

AND, she's provided a step-by-step tutorial on her blog HERE!  Using the Cricut's Paper Doll cuts, she draws the faces and adds outfits to create these cuties.

Here are a few more of her adorable layouts and those super-cute faces:

Aren't we lucky that these super-talented ladies share their secrets with us so we can create beautiful creations like they do???  Thanks for the inspiration Kendra!!!  :)

Happy Scrappin'!
