Scrappin' on Saturday

Hi everyone,
Cindy here, I hope that everyone is ready for another Scrappin' on Saturday post! There is still time to join this week's challenge.

 

Challenge # 169 Set the Scene

 

I found some wonderful scrapping examples in blog land. The first is from Cricut Crazy Scrapper. She used the Suburbia cartridge for the kitchen scene.

 

The next is from Faith Abigail Designs. She used multiple cartridges for her scene including Serenade, Straight from the Nest and Kate's ABC's.

Our Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Design team also made some wonderful scrappy layouts.
Angie used Country Life and French Manor for her scene.

Guest Designer Carri made an outdoor scene using Campin' Critters.

Fantabulous Friday 169: Set the Scene

Good morning everyone!

This week we're off and running with a fun "set the scene" challenge for you.  I've spent some time finding a couple of projects out there to give you a little inspiration!

Check out this terrific layout that Jackie made using the Country Life cartridge.

Saundra made this darling card using the Campin Critters cartridge, I think the glitter in her fire is the perfect touch!

Finally this sweet little baby card made by Luisa, using Baby Steps.

There are several cartridges out there that you can use to create a fun "scenic" project with.  First up, the Simply Charmed cartridge.  This one has a lot of cute images for different holidays and seasons, along with several accessories.

The Block Party Lite cartridge would help you create some fun scenic projects for summer/family events.

Finally, for boys and girls projects, you could always use either Nate's or Kate's ABC's.

Quick Tip Tuesday

Hello, it's Angie from Angie's Paper Passion again with another Quick Tip Tuesday!

Have you ever tried using the Cricut markers? They really are a lot of fun to use and here are a couple of tips to help you when using them in your Cricut machine. First, you don't need to remember what machine settings to use with your markers because they are written right on the side of each marker. So always check that and change your machine's pressure and speed before inserting the marker so you won't forget.

Second, again before inserting the marker, always place a piece of scratch paper right under the blade housing like this:

 so this will not happen to you:

(Note: I did not do this on purpose to give an example! LOL)

Now I have a permanent mark on my dear Cricut but it could be worse - I could have accidentally marked the project that I was working on! So learn from my mistake and use scratch paper!

Third, here's what you need to do if  you want to draw an image and then cut it out. After you finish your drawing and remove the marker, make sure you change your machine's settings back to the appropriate settings for cutting paper. Then DO NOT hit the UNLOAD button! Instead just hit the LOAD button again and that will take your blade back to the original starting point! If you hit the UNLOAD and then LOAD buttons, your cuts will not match up to your drawn image.

So dust off those markers (or go buy a set) and give them a try - they really are fun to use!
