Scrappin' Saturday: Cricut Scrapbooking Tips!

Need some great tips on using your Cricut to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind layouts? Dana Hinders has some FANTABULOUS tips featured at Love To Know: Scrapbooking. She lists some great ideas, from titles and embellishments to your own mini-albums.  These fool-proof techniques will surely get your creativity going and make the most use of your Cricut!

I've used several of these tips in my own scrapbooking and thought I'd share some examples with you:
1.  Cut two sets of letters and layer them (I used the shadow feature) for a custom, outlined title.

2.  Cut your title letters out of patterned paper for a completely coordinating look.

3.  Use extra photos from your stash to cut your title for extra detail and an interesting take on photo placement.

4.  Mount small stickers and embellishments on to circles or other shapes cut with your Cricut to help visually ground them to your layout.

For journaling, use small shapes cut with your Cricut in place of bullet points (or journal directly onto a custom shape to match your layout).

Fantabulous Friday #5

Have you tried cutting fabric with your Cricut? I really wanted to try it last summer, but was intimidated on where to even start! I found this video on You Tube- Cut Fabric with you Cricut and used it as my tutorial, and it worked great.

Thursday's Tutorials #5

Quick Tip Tuesday 4

Thats right ladies it is time for another Quick Tip Tuesday . . .

Two weeks ago I posted a few of my favorite storage solutions, which included the Clip it up, and some Making Memories Storage Centres. One problem with these solutions is that they can be quite costly and I realize this in not in the budget for all scrapbookers so I wanted to post a few pocket book friendly storage solutions. All of these solutions can be found in many discount and dollar stores . . . how great is that!!!

Here are a few cool ones I have come across (photos courtesy of Scrapbooks etc)

Use a mug holder with mugs to store your markers! How clever!!


How about a low cost screw and bolt storage organizer for your embellies?

A corner unit shower caddy? Who would have thought!!



How about a binder with collector card storage pages for your die cuts?

I think this one is my favorites . . . old tin ceiling tiles turned into magnetic idea boards!

I absolutely adore all of these low cost solutions and I am postive I will be adding a few to my scrapbooking room! How about you?
