Scrappin' Saturday #3: Make Your Own Word Book

Welcome to our third Scrappin' Saturday here at FCCB! Today I'd like to share with you a FANTABULOUS tutorial I found for making your own, custom word books. These can be quite expensive if you buy them at the store, and they rarely come with coordinating papers that don't require sanding/cutting. And, if you're like me, you always want a word or theme that the scrapbook companies don't make! :)

These are actually really simple to do, even if you haven't used Design Studio before. There are several great tutorials out there in Blogland, but one that I found particularly helpful was this awesome tutorial from ACherryOnTop...going through their step-by-step instructions with screen shots of the entire process will help you master these word books in no time! Here are some examples of their step-by-step screenshot tutorial:

You can use either the baby bug or the Expression for these, depending on the size you want them. The options are endless...words, names, shapes, etc. And you can cut papers to go directly on top of any shape/letter you cut, with no sanding/trimming required!

Let us know if you try one of these word books and link your project in the comments section below for everyone to see!

If you have suggestions/ideas for a future Scrappin' Saturday feature, please email me at TheHouseHoldCEO@live.com.

Happy Scrappin'!

  1. Here is a name word book that I did for my cousin. I don't have DS but I used SCAL to make this.

  2. Great job, Sandy! I love your album...and that you shared with us that you were able to make this with SCAL rather than DS. Good to know... Thanks for sharing with us here at FCCB! :)
