Quick Tip Tuesday: Ragged Edges

Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!
Paper rubbed with a well-loved sanding block.
I tend to be fairly picky with my paper edges and prefer edges that have crisp, clean cuts.  However, I find that when I use my portable trimmer, paper edges tend to be a bit more ragged than I would like.  When this happens, I gently rub a sanding block along the sides of my paper to smooth things out.

Card made using a sanding block to get rid of the ragged edges on the paper mat.
Happy crafting!

  1. Great tip Kate! Like you, I like everything to be trimmed and smooth. I have a hard time with the "distressed" look because I always want to fix it...lol!

  2. I'm not sure what kind of trimmer you have, but the Creative Memories trimmers can be sharpened by cutting a piece of wax paper or foil through it a couple of times. It might work with another kind also, to get a cleaner cut.

  3. LOL, it's nice to know that someone else does this, course I do it because I run my trimmer blades down and have to "freshen" the edges up after cutting!

  5. Thanks, Sparta Savings! I will certainly give that a go! I do this with my punches but never thought to try with trimmers.
