PUNS offffffffffff FUN!
OK, this has to be one of the "funniest" challenge boards around and you can find it on FB, it's called Tacky Tuesday, and let me tell you there is nothing better than getting punny cards to send out to friends and family that will make them laugh! Right?
I actually found this by cruising around on one of my fellow Design team member's blog: luvscrappintogether ( Saundra's blog ) and I enjoyed it ever since, so much that I wanted to share Tacky Tuesday with you too!
I asked Ruthie to give me some insight on how she came up with this novel idea and this is what she wrote me:
"The Tacky Tuesday Challenge was not planned. I was at a friends house looking through her "Freshly Picked" Cricut cartridge handbook and when I turned to the page with a lettuce cut, all I could think about was "Come Lettuce Adore Him". LOL It was only a week before Christmas and I do this thing in my head, where I am constantly integrating songs into things that people say. I know... weird. Anyway, I started laughing and told my friend that I was going to make a card with the lettuce cut and have the sentiment say, "Come Lettuce Adore Him." She had been wanting to come up with some sort of challenge and it all just fell into place. We decided that it would be fun to have a challenge where we took strange Cricut cuts and used their name in the sentiment (that's the "Tacky" part). Tuesday ended up being the best day for both of us, as we had other design team commitments on the other days, during the week. I also thought that it would be good to create a group on Facebook, so that anyone could play along. There is a large community of scrappers/card makers out there, who do not have blogs but still like to do challenges. I thought that a Facebook group was the perfect way to include everyone. The new challenge is posted on the third Tuesday of every month, on my blog and on the Facebook page. You have two weeks to complete the challenge and post a photo of your card on the Facebook page. A day after the challenge ends I choose a winner using Random.org. The winner is given the opportunity to be a guest designer for the next month."

ReplyDeleteIt is such a fun challenge! I've tried to make most everyone, if I can't participate I get to see everyone else's as soon as I log on to FB, it's great.
ReplyDeleteI have participated on this challenge blog and it is loads of fun! I love the fact that is on FB because their are a lot of crafters who do not have a blog nor do they want one. It is so much fun to see what other punnies people come up with. Thank you, Ruthie, for this wonderful idea!
