Scrappin' Saturday: Cupcake Mini Album (Featuring The Stamp Goddess) and WIN a Cricut Cartridge!!!

Welcome to another Scrappin' Saturday here at FCCB! This is a super-exciting day for two reasons...

1) I am showcasing my most favorite project of all time, created by the Fantabulously "Fabulously Artsy" Stamp Goddess...the Paper Cupcake!

AND
2) You have the chance to WIN the Opposites Attract cartridge, donated by Custom Crops!!!! (details below)

Back when I first entered "Blog Land" and realized how many creative and talented paper crafters were out there, I came across The (hilarious) Stamp Goddess and her famous Paper Cupcake. I was instantly hooked and have been making these ever since. At first I only made the giftcard holder cupcakes. But then I found her mini album cupcake and just went nuts over it! So of course I had to make that, too! Here are a couple of paper cupcakes I've made following her tutorial (with a couple of modifications, see below)...the first is the mini album and the second is the gift card holder:
The Stamp Goddess has a YouTube Channel with a video tutorial on how to make the giftcard holder cupcakes:
After watching this video, I decided that there were a couple of things I could use my Cricut on in order to save some time and money:

1. Instead of using actual blooms, I cut the flowers (used as part of the icing) out of paper using one of the flower cuts available from many of the Cricut cartridges.

2. I used one of the circle cuts available on the cartridges to make the chipboard base of my cupcakes and for the mini-album pages for the cupcake mini album, so I didn't have to cut them by hand. I also add a circle to the bottom of the cupcakes to cover the chipboard base and my hot glue mess!!! :)

I have had RAVE reviews on these whenever I've given them as gifts, so I hope you'll make one and see how fun (and CUTE!) they are...and be sure to leave The Stamp Goddess a comment letting her know how FANTABULOUS her cupcakes are!

And NOW....here's your chance to win the awesome Opposites Attract cartridge by ProvoCraft, generously donated by Custom Crops! Here's what you need to do:

1) Leave a comment on this post telling why you'd like to win this cartridge

2) Become a follower of Fantabulous Cricut

Contest ends Monday, June 7th at midnight! Good luck to everyone and please let us know if you try to make the cupcake mini-album or giftcard holder. We'd love to see your creations!

Happy Scrappin'!!! :)

Fantabulous Friday #12

Earlier this week I hosted a mommy craft time where we made Dad coupon books. It was so nice to be able to cut out allot of blank tickets so quickly with the Cricut. (The Mickey Font Cartridge has this shape.) I had some punches and die cuts out for the girls to use as they wished. It was so neat to see everyone's creativity come out! Plus, a Father's Day Gift was created:)

Thursday's Tutorial #12

Today's tutorial puts the spotlight on one of our Fantabulous
design team members - Penny Light!
One of Penny's creations was recently featured in the Cricut Chirp.

Here are the instructions to make this cute "Under the Sea" Charm Bracelet:

Cartridges Used - Create a Critter

Instructions:

1. Cut the characters you want to use from a sheet of shrinking material. Cut at 2 inches each. Set the blade housing at 6, speed at 2, pressure at 5, and cut each twice.

2. Color both sides of the plastic characters with colored pencils or sharpies. Remember that as it shrinks, the colors will get bolder.

3. Punch a hole in each character before you bake it.

4. Bake as instructed on the shrink film package and allow to cool.

5. Penny used a silver bracelet. She also added blue shell piece beads. This bracelet would be perfect for a pre-teen girl or theme party favor.

Scrappin' Saturday: Creating Custom Mini Albums

Welcome to Scrappin' Saturday here at FCCB!

Today I want to share a video I found on YouTube by LiveLoveScrap that shows how to make the custom shaped mini albums using your Cricut. I've highlighted this technique before (HERE), but I LOVE how her video shows you exactly what to do, including using the "Flip" feature to cover the backs of each of your album pages...

You can use this technique to make any shape of album you want...look through your cartridge stash, pick a new shape you've never used before and challenge yourself to make a shaped mini album using that cut. I dare you! :)
If you make a mini album with your Cricut, please link it up in the comments section below for all of us to see!
Happy Scrappin'!
