Scrappin' on Saturday

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful.....
Not sure about you, but the weather has been pretty cold over in my neck of the woods!  Perfect time to get your cricut out and warmed up too! :)

Today I have some fabulous cards to share with you using the Winter Frolic cricut cartridge.  Not sure if you've seen how adorable this cartridge is but "oh my"!!  It's got some super cute images.

The first card I want to share with you was created by Heather over at Princess' Paper Projects.  I absolutely love how she put the owl and branch on an oval background, it really makes them pop.  And what a perfect Christmas card for someone special!!

And of course, it's almost time to hear the pitter patter of little hooves on your rooftop....Tammy over at OBX Stamping & Crafting created this adorable reindeer card.  Isn't that image just too cute?!

Nikki over at Scrappin' Navy Wife used the same little deer image on her card.  She also used some Peachy Keen stamps for her face.  I love that addition along with the faux stitching!  So fun!

I hope you all have been inspired by these lovely ladies. The are truly a talented bunch!!  Stay warm my fellow crafters.

FCCB #189: Beyond Red & Green

Good morning everyone!

We hope you are enjoying our "beyond red & green" challenge theme this week.  Here are a few more projects I found on the web for your inspiration!

First we've got this super cute little candy cane holder card from Crazy for Crafting.  She used the George & Basic Shapes and the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridges to create these darling mice.

Next I found this pretty card using a silhouette of an image over at Inky Fingers.  The Christmas Solutions, Plantin Schoolbook and Wild Card cartridges were used to create this pretty scene.

Finally, I found this adorable Christmas ornament using a plain, clear ornament and vinyl over at The Tall and Short of it.  She didn't indicate what cartridges she used, but any font cartridge would work here!

Since there are so many cartridges with great Christmas images on them, and I featured some new ones last week, I thought I would do something a bit different this week.  Right now, Cricut has some great holiday rental bundles going on.  Check out their website if you are interested!

Thursday Tutorial with Michelle

Hi! I know a lot of you probably have this cool little tool, but I can't believe it took me so long to get one! A lot of us make cards-and how many times have you had to abandon a card because the envelope was too big for your Cricut to cut?  Not any more-there are at least two companies that make Envelope Punch boards-Stampin' Up & We R Memory Keepers. Here is a video from Stampin' Up that demonstrates the ease of which you can make a custom envelope!

This is so handy to have to make an envelope for an odd sized card! You can make over 66 different sizes of envelopes, and there are quite a few YouTube videos for making boxes, file folder cards, etc.  It's really great to use up all those papers that you'll never make a card or layout with, like these:

Just a little hint-on really thin paper, be very gentle with your score lines, or your envelope will tear all by itself!

Remember, this would make a great gift for yourself or someone else!
