Scrappin' on Saturday

Well hello there!!  Glad you could join us this Saturday for another "Scrappin on Saturday" post!  If this is your first time here, please make sure you check out our current challenge.  Hope you decide to play along!!

Today I want to share something a little different with you.  Instead of sharing a cartridge, I want to share a specific image...the snowglobe.  I always loved playing with them when I was a child and still to this day I can't walk by one without giving it a shake.

So, the snowglobe...I have three different snowglobe cuts I want to share with you today by three very talented ladies!

Michele over at Scrap-n-Dance created this adorable penguin snowglobe card using the Christmas Cheer cartridge.  Isn't he just too cute in there with all that Martha Stewart glitter!!

Joanna over at Scrap-Making used the Doodlecharms cartridge to create this amazing shaped card with her Gypsy.  How fun, right?  Make sure you head over to her blog to see what her house is made out of!!!

And Linda over at PaperCutting Kind of Day created this adorable snowman in a globe card using the Doodlecharms cartridge.  I just love the chunky glitter she added to make the snow really stand out!!

I'm sure one of these talented ladies has inspired you to get your Cricut out and make a fun snowglobe card!!  Happy Saturday everyone!!

FCCB #190: Holiday Cards

Good morning everyone!

We hope you're enjoying our fun holiday cards challenge this week!  Here are a few more projects to inspire you!

First up we have this gorgeous Victorian card found at Stampin for Sanity.  The Christmas Cards seasonal cartridge was used for this.

Next we have this pretty poinsettia card from Diane DiTullio.  She used the Accent Essentials cartridge to create this pretty flower.

Lastly Candace at Papercrafts by Candace made this adorable reindeer card!  She used Doodlecharms, Sweet Treats and Tags, Bags, Boxes & More on this one.

Thursday Tutorial with Michelle

Hi, welcome to the last Thursday Tutorial of the year! I can't believe how fast time has flown. Today's tutorial is how to fold and score the Snowflake "blossom" box on the Artiste Cartridge.

I couldn't for the life of me find any instructions or tips on how to fold this hexagon "box"! I fiddled with  scoring different lines and finally got it to work. Artiste recommends 4", so that's what I used and it's perfect for a gift card. I recommend cutting a "test pattern" out of your "I'll never use this" pile of paper. I actually found out I didn't want a busy pattern because you can't really see the snowflake.

You can cut this up to make a pattern to dress up the box.
This is at 1/4, which I personally didn't like, so I made a change in my cutting lines to 1/8". Do this same procedure to produce a pattern for the bottom. Trace 6 arms and one bottom to the back of your designer paper, cut them out and adhere to the box. I colored my snowflake arms silver for a little shine, and look at how nice it turned out!

So I hope you make one of these to see how easy they are now that the scoring/pattern instructions are available.

It's been fun filling in for JoNeita. Thursday Tutorials will be back in 2014!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
