Time for the FCCB Thursday Tutorial-Coloring ribbon and making paper bows

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays. This week the challenge at FFCB is "Rolling in Ribbon. I had two tutorials I wanted to share with you and couldn't decide which to post so you get two this week. The first is from a blog I love Blog Quick Quotes. Here you will find out how to make the Crinkled Ribbon we all love by using Hug Snug Seam Binding and Glimmer Mist. I am definitely ordering some of this to make my own colors for projects. Hug Snug Seam Binding can be found on Ebay and Amazon as well as other websites for around $10 you get 100 yards.

Good Morning Fantabulous Friends!  

Is everyone all set for the holidays?  Don't you just love it when people ask and you're not even close. ;) LOL  - That's my case, but that's fairly normal for me.  I usually end up shopping and wrapping right on Christmas Eve.  We decided to give you guys some motivation and inspiration for shopping with our "Present Time" challenge that can be viewed along with the other gorgeous creations by our DT and our Fantabulous participants,  -HERE.  One thing I love about the holidays is wrapping presents and making presents.  I have so much fun with that part of the holidays.  I have a feeling most of you do too. ;)  I even enjoy shopping, if it's not last minute.

This year I am making gifts for the women in my family and we have all decided to not do monetary gifts except for the children.  The Hubs and I will be heading to Colorado Springs, CO to see his family. It's only about 2 1/2 hours south from us so not too far of a trip.  His brother, SIL, niece & nephews live there and his parents are flying in from Wisconsin.  I'm not sure when we'll get to see my mom and brothers, but we'll make a point after Christmas I'm sure.  I really start missing them if it's been too long!  What are all of our Fantabulous Friends doing this holiday season?  No matter what you celebrate, we'd love to hear from ya!

Quick Tip Tuesday - Make Your Own Craft Snow

Hi everyone and welcome to another Quick Tip Tuesday! Today my tip is a seasonal one - how to make craft snow! And it couldn't be easier :)

I purchased a "snow pen" to add touches of snow to my winter projects, but I haven't been happy with the results. No matter how much I use, the coverage is spotty. So I started searching for an alternative and found dozens of websites with the instructions on how to make your own craft snow. Most of the websites were for children's craft projects, but the results looked so awesome, I had to try it for myself!

What You Will Need:

• White Glue
• Shaving Cream*
• Paintbrush

*Note: I first tried to use my Skintimate moisturizing cream shave and it didn't work very well, I'm guessing because the cream doesn't really foam.

Mix equal parts white glue and shaving cream. Stir until thoroughly mixed and foamy.

Using a paint brush, add foam snow to your project.

I added quite a bit to my snowman, just to show the results. The  mixture dries into a fun puffy velvety cottony texture! I dabbed mine on for a more textured look, but you could make it smooth as well. I used a thicker cardstock and while it did curl when I first added the snow, it flattened out as it dried.

Spotlight Sunday

Hello Fantabulous Friends!

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday. Today we are spotlighting Terry from Tumpkin Time Cards. Terry was a Wednesday Winner with this adorable Fall home decor project. What a great project with all the fun papers and images!

Let's get to know Terry's crafty side a bit!

1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?

I was given a whole bunch of Stampin' Up items by a co-worker and thought I might give it a try but got distracted by work and a whole bunch of quilting I needed to get finished. Once I had all of that done I tackled card-making and it turned out to be the creative outlet I needed. I am amazed at how few items it takes to make something beautiful but of course those few items have blossomed into a whole room full of paper, stamps, well you get the idea!

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)?

Definitely cards and I am really getting into making 3D projects. I have made numerous gift boxes and bags and even a haunted house and a sleigh! I love to embellish and these are blank slates to me.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?

I love to use ink to distress and highlight. Inking can take a project from flat to pop in an instant. I use my Inkssentials ink pad holders with sponges most of all.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?

I don't have very many of them yet, but I think I have to say Joys of the Season right now. I really like Paper Doll Dress Up, too!

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?

I work full time so not much of that but I love spending time with my grandsons, watching historical movies and am just now starting to do jigsaw puzzles again.

Any other information you would like us to know about you?

I love to laugh and am fortunate to live with a man who makes me do that, alot!!!!! I try to find the humor in just about everything because, after all, sometimes if we don't laugh, crying is the other alternative and who wants that...........:)

FCCB Spotlight Sunday Hostess

Fantabulous Friday - Present Time

We have entered the most popular gift giving season of all.  It is only 16 days until Christmas.   Our theme this week is Present Time.  One of the cartridges used a lot for creating gift items is Tags, Bags, Boxes & More.  It was created and used with the original Cricut machine.  Now with CCR and the larger Expressions, the same items can be created for larger gifts. 

Shirley Thompson (Okieladybug) of Okieladybug's Scrap N' More posted these purses made with the original Cricut and TBBM.  Aren't they adorable?

Paula Bee of Craft with Bee made this fat free cake and several other projects with our featured cartridge.  This cake looks good enough to eat, don't you think?

I've had to keep my post short this week.  We've had a death in the family and I have been tied up with that.  My sister's husband passed away Monday.  Please remember her in you prayers.
