Spotlight Sunday

Hello! It's time for todays Sunday Spotlight designer.

This week we are so thrilled to have Diana Larson from DL.ART join us. Her blog is full of great inspiration, so definitely check it out. 

My name is Diana M. Larson and I am thrilled, honored and humbled for the invitation to be the guest designer for this week at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  I love this challenge blog and love to enter the Cricut challenges whenever I can.  The design team is awesome with their creativity and there is always so much information with tips, tricks and videos.

The name of my blog is DL.ART, but to get to it you must type in http://dianamlarson.blogspot.com. I also have a You tube channel DLART1, which I love to create videos for and an ETSY store, which I really didn’t do anything with until this summer. 

I started scrapbooking/ paper crafting, when I was fairly young and being an artist was my dream. Well dreams come true; I have exhibited my paintings for over 20 years while having a career in teaching photography and graphic design.

If you have visited my blog at all, you know my favorite paper-crafting projects are multiples of anything, 3D projects and cards.

My favorite products are Echo Park and Graphics 45 papers, 3M quick dry glue and my ATG gun. I go through a lot of tape and glue.  If I could only have one cartridge, I think it would have to be the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, because it has so many elements to it, but I love them all at different times for different reasons and I am so glad I do not have to choose. Good morning and welcome to another Scrappin' Saturday.  Today is another video tutorial using the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge.  This is another great cartridge from Close To My Heart. The possibilities are endless.

FCCB Fantabulous Friday #202: Use the Color Green

Happy Friday everyone.  This week our challenge is to Use the Color Green.  This week I'd like to showcase some cute cards using the color Green.
The first card is from Corri from Buglovr.  She made this adorable onesie shaped card using the B is For Boy, Doodlecharms and Lacey Labels Cricut Cartridges. I love the shaped card idea with the adorable duck on it.

The next card I would like to showcase if from Lisa at A Mermaid's Crafts. She created this adorable Spring Card using the Cindy Loo Cartridge.  I love the cut with that adorable umbrella on it and the gold peeking through.

The next card comes from Nicole at Teachdanz.  She made this adorable card using Create a Critter, George and Basic Shapes and Doodlecharms. I love the colors, glitter clouds and those adorable Rhinestone apples!

The final card I wanted to showcase today is from Justine from A Techy Teacher With a Cricut. She made this wicked Saint Patrick's Day card using Cricut Lite Celebrate with Flourish and Paper Doll Dress up. I love the jewels in the pot of gold and that beautiful Green patterned paper.

Thursday Tutorial, The pop up box with CCR

Hello fellow Cricuteers!


Liz here to share with you a tutorial I found about the very popular Pop Up Box Card. Have you tried this style yet? I think it is super fun, I just made my first one and loved it!!! Cara Miller created this cute card and shares her file. I used hers as a reference to create my own. Instead of using  perfect squares for the flaps I used the ones with the rounded corners. You can personalize it. You don't know how to re-size your images to make them fit? In this video she also shows you how to re-size your images properly using CCR, in case you don't own the cartridge she uses ( Create a Critter)



The final card is about 5" x 6.5". here is a pick of my version. In which I added an extra row of pop ups, used clear acetate instead of card stock for the pop ups. And an elastic band to  keep it closed.

Quick Tip Tuesday

Hi everyone it is Tuesday so time for another tip!  When I get a new mat it is just way to sticky for some of the thinner papers.  So what I do to take some of the stickiness away from the mat is gentley press my hands all over the mat so that the oils from my hands take some of the stickiness away.

Another way to do this as suggested on the Cricut chat site is by using an old t-shirt and pressing it lightly onto the mat.  This will transfer some of the fibers from the t-shirt and reduce the stickiness enough so that the paper doesn't permanently attach to the mat.
