Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!
I've recently started cutting vinyl and learned a great tip to save money. Instead of purchasing transfer tape, simply use painter's tape! I've also heard that masking tape works just as well. As we have these supplies on hand at our house, I decided to give it a go and can assure you that painter's tape works wonderfully.
After cutting your image, remove all unwanted vinyl from the backing.
Apply strips of painter's tape over your vinyl
and then remove the vinyl backing.
Position your vinyl as desired
and carefully remove the painter's tape.
I learned this tip from Nancy Jongenotter's instructional video which can be found here. Thanks Nancy!
Happy crafting!

ReplyDeleteGreat tip! Thanks for sharing this one!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thanks for the tip! The transfer tape has kept me from wanting to finally do some vinyl since it essentially doubles the cost. Can't wait to try this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great tip, transfer tape is not readily available over here so this is a much better option.

I am going to try this the next time I do a vinyl project because I did it with nothing last time but my patience and I found it a bit tricky!
