Fantabulous Friday - Forever Young

Hello everyone...ready for another Fantabulous Friday?
I'm so happy that you are here with us today!
So....have you entered this week's challenge yet?
If not, you still have plenty of time....just remember...

It's Hip To Be Square!
(I soooo have Huey Lewis and the News singing in my head!)

This week's challenge is....
Challenge #51 "Hip to be Square" -green & gold
create a square card and include the two colors green and gold (bright yellow will do).
You can enter your project HERE.
So, thinking of all that green and gold put me in sort of a "retro" mood.  Which, in turn, lead me straight to
Forever Young.
Let's check out the Creative Features on this "hip" cartridge...
*Layer
*Emblem
*Tag
*Word
*Purse
*Shadow

Combining our "hip" theme and those retro colors resulted in .....

Don't you just love that retro paper?
The gold mat was cut using the Emblem Feature found on page 29.
The "model" is also found on page 29, cut at 4 inches.
I completed the inside of the card with more retro paper, gold ribbon and gems.
The "stylish" sentiment was cut using the Word Feature found on page 59.

Now it's time for a bit of glam...
This card is made using the perfume bottle found on page 62.
After cutting out the green perfume bottle, I covered it with VersaMark watermark ink and gave it a blast from my embossing gun. This gave it a shiny, glassy look.  I used gold foil paper on the top of the bottle and for the "ooh la la".  The, ever so hip, "ooh la la" sentiment is found on page 57 of the handbook.

If you don't find me upstairs in my craft corner, I'm usually curled up somewhere with a book.
For this project, I combined two of my favorite things....crafting and reading...
Ok, before I explain how I made the bookmark, I guess I need to explain the sentiment.
It seems as if everytime I sit down to read, someonesomewhere needs something.
With this bookmark, I never I have to say aloud what I'm thinking...seriously?...right now?...seriously?

Can you relate?  Ok...to make the bookmark, I used the Tag Feature on page 28, using the shift key.
I cut this at 2 1/2 inches which gives you a pretty big tag.  I added three 2 X 2 squares (because it's Hip To Be Square).  I used the Word Feature from page 47, cut at 1 1/2 inches for the sentiment.  That cute little flower is from page 53.  For my tassel, I cut used several strands of DMC embroidery floss.

I really enjoyed playing around with this cartridge as it's one I haven't used in awhile.
My only problem now is I have Huey Lewis and the News singing "It's Hip to be Square" in one ear and
Rod Stewart singing "Forever Young" in my other ear!
Hey, I can live with that!  Hope you enjoyed today's Fantabulous Friday!

Until next time,
