Quick Tip Tuesday: Blank Cards

Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!

When making regular A2 cards, I will often use a blank card from a value pack that comes with pre-scored cards and envelopes.  I have also purchased packs in 5 x 6.5 inches size.  I like to purchase these sets on sale and it ends up costing me much less do to this than it does to simply purchase envelopes, let alone the cardstock.

Here are two cards that I created using pre-made cards from a value pack of primary coloured cards and envelopes.  The word art is from Celebrations.  I do find that some of the cards are not as sturdy as others so you would have to use another layer of paper or cardstock (i.e. don't just simply stamp or embellish the front) if the card is intended to be displayed - which it likely will be!

If you like this tip and don't have any card packs, I noticed that the Recollections brand blank card packs are on sale for 40% off at Michaels this week, both in Canada and the US.  You might wish to take advantage of this promotion!

Happy Crafting!

  2. I too use the purchased blank cards w/envelopes. Love your cards. What did you use to emboss the candles on the gold layer of the first card? Love those....

  7. Great tip! Don't forget Target has a line of bridal cards that go for really cheap - I bought a set that included 50 pieces of nice off white cardstock(that a bride would use a computer to print her invitation on, but we would just use the cardstock), 50 envelopes, 50 A2 cards(blank) and envelopes for $6.45!! It was worth it just for the envelopes!!!

  8. thanks for the tip..I have to admit that I always use the value pack of white or cream cards with envelopes. I have never thought to buy the colored value pack. I will have to pick some up next time.
