Quick Tip Tuesday: Product Registration

Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!
We wish you a Merry Christmas!
With Christmas just around the corner, I imagine that a number of us will be finding new Provocraft products under the tree – from machines to cartridges to other related tools.  Today’s tip is a simple reminder to register your products as soon as possible.  Should a problem ever arise, Provocraft’s customer support will be able to help you more quickly if your products are registered.  In some cases, there are also perks with registered products.  If you receive a Gypsy, for example, there are five free downloadable cartridges during this season’s promotion (but be sure to register before the end of the month to take advantage of this great deal).

To register your products, go to www.Cricut.com.  You can select My account from the top right hand corner.  If you do not have an account, you will first have to set one up.  From there, select edit/add from the Registration History section of the web page.  Select the item you wish to register from the list of products provided.  You will then be taken to a details page where you will need to enter your personal information.  You will also be required to enter the serial number of your product.  That’s it!

Merry Christmas – and happy crafting!

Scrappin' Saturday

Daily Giveaways

Today's Gift...
Glue Dots -Dot n Go & Bitty Buttons
All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of this post for your chance to win today's giveaway.
*****

Welcome to another Scrappin' Saturday....and this week I have a challenge for you.

Most of the time our scrapbook pages celebrate the people in our lives, but sometimes we need to capture the "things" in our lives, too. As we celebrate the holidays, think about the things that are special to you. Do you have a favorite family tradition? a recipe that you always make for the holidays? a favorite ornament or holiday decoration? Maybe a family story that's always told at holiday gatherings? My challenge is to create a layout that captures one of these holiday traditions or items that has special meaning to you or your family. Just two requirements - include some journaling and at least one Cricut cut.

My page showcases a holiday decoration that's very special to me. My son bought this for me at the school Santa Shop when he was in 1st grade. I can remember how proud he was when he gave me a present he picked out all by himself. Every year since then, this Santa bear has been on my mantel at Christmas. After 24 Christmases, it's a little worn, but still just as treasured.

You have until midnight, December 31st, to post a comment on this thread, with a link to your layout. I'll use a random number generator to pick someone to win a little scrappy goodness from me. :) Looking forward to seeing your holiday pages!

Good morning Fantabulous Cricut Friends! Hope you’re all doing well and have your crafting hats on…it’s the last weekend before Christmas….It’s now or never :-)

This week here at FCCB, we have been doing an awesome Crawl ( our version of a blog hop). Our theme was “Deck The Halls-Walls” Great crafting ideas using your Cricut.
So in keeping with that theme, I made a couple of very simple ideas to help you decorate for the holidays!
cricut christmas village reindeer
First is a set of pretty reindeer from the Christmas Village Cartridge. I cut three of them out in 4, 5 and 6 inches. I used Sugar Daddy Bazzil Bling Cardstock. It cut beautifully and I didn’t have to embellish the Reindeer as the shimmer from the cardstock is pretty enough. Of course, you can’t see that in the photo. I am not the best picture taker by an stretch. They will sit on a shelf with this angel by my entrance.

I created this pretty cross ornament and cut it out with my Cricut and the MTC software. I cut it out of plain white cardstock and then covered it with Pinecone Glimmer Mist. Once it was dry, I inked the edges for just a bit more of the distressed look. It has a very pretty and understated shimmer against the lights from the Glimmer Mist, but again…..you really can’t see it in the photo.
ornament cross close up
Here is a close up of the ornament.
So, to help celebrate the joy of this season of giving, I am giving the SVG file to you for FREE. It will be available through this link through Monday, December 20th at midnight. Just our small way of thanking each of you for your faithful readership of our blog. Just click the add to button and it will take you through the steps.

Please be sure to check out all the wonderful ideas from the design team and participate in the crawl. There are a LOT of really, really nice prizes up for grabs! May you all have a wonderfully blessed, Merry Christmas, Melin

Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday!

I've just learned of a fantastic way to use both sides of a sheet of double-sided patterned paper on the same layout. It's so simple - and yet not something I had thought of! I learned this idea from Patti Behan.
Layout created by Patti Behan
Take a 12x12 (or whatever size you wish your layout to be) sheet of double-sided patterned paper. Using the fit-to-page feature of your Cricut, cut your desired shape. The shape must be symmetrical. Once cut, take the "scrap" piece (that is, the piece that is not your actual shape) and adhere it to the white page from your scrapbook sleeve. Then, flip the shape over and insert it in the blank area. What a great way to save paper!!

Patti also put together a video tutorial explaining the procedure.
Happy crafting!
