Scrappin' on Saturday

Hi everyone, Cindy here, I hope that everyone is ready for another Scrappin' on Saturday post! There is still time to join this week's challenge.

Challenge # 166 Frame It
Use a frame.

Any Cricut cartridge with a label or a fun edge can be used to "frame" a photo on a layout. Today, I am sharing some of my favorites out in blog land.

Faith of Faith Abigail Designs is one of my favorite scrapbookers and she created an entire series of wedding layouts. In this layout, she used Elegant Edges to help frame her photo mat.

Melin of My Papercrafting made this gorgeous layout using the Sophisticated cartridge.
Liz from Unik By Yes made this super fun layout and the frame for her picture is really fun. She used Baby Steps, Formal Occasion, Life is a Party and When I Was a Kid.
Adrienne from Scottie Crafts made this absolutely gorgeous layout using Fancy Frames.
Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope that you all fine some time to scrap!

Fantabulous Friday 166 - Frame It

Hello!!  Heather here with this week's Fantabulous Friday post!  The challenge this week is Frame It - we want to see your projects that include a frame, and as always, at least one Cricut cut!

I found some fun inspiration for you this week.  First up is Kasie.  Kasie created this great card set using Elegant Edges.  I love the soft colors and all the details she added!

Next up is Kristy.  Kristy made this fantastic card for her daughter's birthday.  Those flowers and pearls are such a beautiful touch on top of that frame cut from Fancy Frames.

And finally we have Jeanne.  Jeanne made a beautiful set of inspirational cards using Fancy Frames.  Here is one of the cards she created.  I love the colors and that intricate frame on top of that background pattern!

There are images on lots of cartridges that could work for this week's challenge.  I decided to feature a few cartridges that are really geared toward frame-like shapes.   First up is Elegant Edges.  Tons of frame options on this cartridge!

Next is Fancy Frames.  Another cartridge that's full of images that would work perfectly for this week's challenge!

And finally I thought I'd feature Accent Essentials.  This cartridge has a wide variety of shapes, a number of which could work for our Frame It challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope I helped provide you with some inspiration.  Link up your project by Sunday evening!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for Scrappin' Saturday!!

Thursday Tutorial - Cutting Fabric with the Cricut!

Rachel here from Cricut with Heart to say both Hello and Goodbye today!  This is my final Thursday Tutorial as a DT Member here on FCCB, and I've had such a fun time here with all you creative ladies!!

Unfortunately, I'm not able to continue on with the team due to time constraints but I will continue to be a fan and will participate in challenges when I can.  I'd like to extend my congratulations to all the Fantabulous new DT members and look forward to enjoying their creativity.

While I'm sad to be leaving the team, I have to let you in on a fun fact which makes me very happy: I'm in Disney World right now at the Close to My Heart Convention!  If you have visited my blog, you know that I am a CTMH Independent Consultant, and I get such a thrill out of going to the annual conventions.  This year, I'll have three of my team members joining me, so we decided to use our Cricuts to make some matching shirts to wear!  It was really fun and easy!

Here is how the back of the shirt turned out:
On the front, we put each of our initials!  Here's mine:
To make these, we used the Disney Font cartridge to cut out the ears with letters and the numbers, and then we cut out the red bow from Mickey and Friends.

You'll start by ironing on some Heat and Bond material to the wrong side of your fabric, then place this onto the cutting mat fabric side down.

You'll have to use the Flip key when cutting since this is the back side.

Here is the back of our red fabric when we cut it out.

Here is how it looked flipped over.

When you pull off the paper, you'll see the adhesive.

Simply lay it down right side up on your shirt.  Here is my team member Brenda arranging her shirt.

And then she irons it down for about 10 seconds!

It's that easy!  I can't wait to get a picture of us all together wearing our fun Cricut made t-shirts.  In fact, I even made these matching frames as gifts to Brenda, Jenny-Jo, and Monty, so we can put our pictures in them.  I used the CTMH Black Glitter paper to make these and I really love how sparkly they turned out!  This also goes along with our FCCB Frame It challenge this week, so I hope it inspires you to play along!
Thanks again for a wonderful run as an FCCB DT member, and big hugs to all the new ladies joining the team!
Happy Crafting!

Quick Tip Tuesday

Hello everyone! It's Angie from Angie's Paper Passion with another quick crafting tip for you. Have you ever gone craft shopping and returned home with a new Cricut cartridge only to realize that you owned the exact same one already? I know I have! When I first started using my Cricut years ago I never could imagine that the day would actually come when I'd have so many carts that I couldn't remember them all - but it has! But thankfully there's someone out there who thought of this and created a meat little thing on her blog to help us - Joy of Joy's Life. She has a wonderful page on her blog called Cricut Cartridge Checklist.
(Just a portion of the list)
She has them all listed by category - Fonts, Seasonal, the 'Best of' Collections, Events, Projects, Classmates, Solutions, Image carts, Cricut Cake carts, Lites, Cricut Circle carts, Imagine Art, Imagine Colors & Patterns, both editions of the E2 pre-loaded carts, Gypsy Downloadable Only (this is the Smiley Cards cart), Cricut Mini pre-loaded, and even Cricut Infomercial Exclusive carts! Joy has also marked which carts are now discontinued. All you need to do is go to her blog and click on the carts that you own. Then you can print out the list and keep it with you as a quick reminder. And I'm happy to report that Joy does an excellent job of keeping her cart list up to date! So give Joy's list a try and you'll never buy the same cart twice - now you can use that extra money to pick up another cart that you don't have on your list!

Thanks for stopping by and remember to come back tomorrow when we'll announce the Wednesday's Winners.
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
