Scrappin' on Saturday

Vinyl, vinyl...VINYL!!! Okay, seriously...I LOVE working with this stuff!! It's absolutely AMAZING!!

So for this Saturday's post, I have a mini tutorial for you!! Is so easy!! My photos while I was creating this project didn't turn out (eek!!) but I promise you you won't even need it!! That's how easy it is!!

Okay onto the project!! Here is the sign I created for my home. 

First, I painted the entire sign a metallic silver. I used Rustoleum spray paint.  

After allowing it to dry I put my cut out my vinyl letters (Songbird & Lyrical Letters) and put them down. 

Then used a white spray paint and put two coats on top (make sure you follow the directions on the can. Most paints allow you to recoat after 10mins). 

And last....let it dry for at least an hour. Then peel off the vinyl. I also sanded mine around the edges of the board and over the letters to give it a shabby chic look. 

Tada!! How easy was that!! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

FCCB #177: Vinyl Cricut Crawl

Good morning everyone!

Have you been enjoying all things vinyl over here this week??   Vinyl is such a fun medium to play with in so many different ways.  We've got such a great sponsor this week, Cricket Vinyl Supplies, too!!  I've got some more vinyl projects I found out there to give you even more inspiration!

First we have this terrific pumpkin that Johnnie from Saved by Love Creations altered. I can't get over that white pumpkin, it alone is just stunning, but the bold color and font combination she added to it look fantastic!

Next up we've got Missy from Crafts by Missy.  She made this pretty decorative tile using a variety of colors.  I really like the sentiment she used!

Finally we've got McKenzie of Girl Loves Glam.  She made this incredible wreath hanging.  This is just so full of detail!!

The nice thing about vinyl is you can cut ANY Cricut image with it.  Here are some cartridges that  might help you in your fall vinyl projects!

Thursday Tutorials - Cricut Iron-On Vinyl

Hello all, JoNeita from Create with JoNeita here with this weeks Thursday Tutorial.  I hope everyone has had a great time learning all about using vinyl.  Remember there is still time to enter a project, and that if we reach 100 entries, then our wonderful sponsor, CricutVinylSupplies.com will be giving away a Cricut Expression to one lucky winner. 

I have been wanting to try the Cricut Iron-on Vinyl, but was a bit uncertain about it.  I started looking online, and to my surprise there are not many videos about this product, but I did find a great one, which explains the process.  This video is from the Smith Simple Crafts You Tube page.



The main things that I learned, is that you have to flip horizontal your images, especially text, when using Iron-on vinyl.  The second is that the Iron-on vinyl comes with the transfer sheet already on, and that the shinny side (the transfer sheet) should be placed down on your Cricut mat.
