Quick Tip Tuesday: Embossing With The Cricut Blade Turned Backwards!

Welcome to another Quick Tip Tuesday here at Fantabulous Cricut!

This may be old news, but I just discovered something SUPER, ULTRA, FANTABULOUSLY cool...  Did you know you can dry emboss with the opposite end of your Cricut blade?!?!?  That's right....just (carefully) reomve the blade and re-insert it backwards into the blade housing.  Nifty, eh?

I found a video by "SuperJoy" (JoysLife.com) on YouTube that shows exactly how to do it (blade settings and all) and thought I'd share it with you today.  Make sure you watch to the end to see embossing on foil...beautiful!
How cool is that?!?!?  If you've tried this technique, we'd all love to see your creations!  Just leave us a comment with a link to your project and we'll stop on over to check it out!  And don't forget to go visit SuperJoy and tell her how awesome her video is!  :)

  6. What a great, great tip! I don't have the rubber mat thing though. I'm wondering if some foam will work just as well. I might give that a go!

  9. Cool! I've wondered that when I've seen the ideas. It doesn't work without the mat? It'd be really cool if it worked without the mat then you could emboss, then blackout and cut so you'd have a cute embossed detailed image.
