Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday! After cutting letters or images with your Cricut, you’ll want to get them off your mat in the easiest way possible. If you have a Cricut tool kit, the spatula works quite nicely for this. I actually prefer the Cricut knife myself. Its small, sharp edge is perfect for sliding under paper. It’s also very handy for finishing edges that might not have been cut quite to satisfaction. If you don’t have any Cricut tools, a kitchen spatula, a putty knife, a small plastic ruler or even a credit card can be used to lift your paper off your mat. If little bits of ripped paper remain, the Cricut scraper is a great tool to use – as is a credit card - to clear your mat of little unwanted remnants.
Happy crafting!
My favorite removal tool is the pointed spatula that was made by the same company that makes the Slice cutter.
ReplyDeletethe little scraper tool that pampered chef gives you when you purchase stoneware is perfect for this...
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered the Tim Holtz Design Ruler and it is also AWESOME at removing paper bits from the mats...just slide it over the surface from one end of the mat to the other and absolutely no little pieces remain. It's awesome!

ReplyDeleteWe have the Cricut spatula which works very well and we also purchase some artists tools that are very similar. The advantage to the artists tools is that you can find longer ones and reach further under the paper to separate it from the mat.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the additional tips! I've got some of the Pampered Chef scrapers, but haven't seen/heard of the others before. Good to know!
