Hello again everyone! It's Angie from Angie's Paper Passion with another quick tip about your Cricut mats this time. Did you know that there is a 'right' and a 'wrong' side to your plastic mat cover? If you put the wrong side against your mat, over time it will make your mat less sticky much faster. So to make sure that I always put the cover back on my mat correctly, I always use a permanent marker and write my name in the top corner of the cover before taking it off for the very first time. Here's an example (but please try to ignore the actual mat - it's been lovingly used over and over again, lol):
By the way, this is one of the new mats that PC just introduced a few months ago. And although it looks a mess, it's still very sticky but not so much that I have any problems removing my paper! This green one above is the Standard Grip but there are two more available -
Strong Grip (purple) and Light Grip (blue)
As soon as they were available on Cricut.com, I ordered all three! But I have seen them at my local craft store chain (the one with the womans name, hint, hint). I love now having a dedicated mat for my regular cardstock, my heavier pieces (like chipboard), and one for thinner, more light-weight papers.
Hope the tip about the mat covers help you to extend the life of your mats!
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
I did not realize this, thanks for the tip!
