Quick Tip Tuesday - Paper Towel Inking

Happy New Year to everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying getting back into their routines.  My tip today in one I learned from a "Stamp Camp" that I went to this fall.  It is easy to do with items you already you have on hand; paper towels and an ink pad.

First you need to go to your kitchen and grab your paper towels, next bring them to your craft room and take an ink pad and brush the top of paper towel in one direction.  This will help keep the color application even over the paper towel.

Here is a close up of what that paper towel will look like after you ink it.  I think the higher quality paper towels would work a little better than the ones I had on hand.  Most anything will work as long as it has texture.

Next, I cut the desired amount for my project.  Paper towels will be cut easiest with a rotary cutter and traditional trimmer will just tear the paper towel.

I adhered the paper towel with my tape runner, but you could use other types of adhesives too.  I think double stick tape would work well or even a two-way Tombo type glue for the thinker paper towels.  Here is the finished card I made using this technique.

I hope you enjoyed this quick tip, be sure to check back tomorrow for the Wednesday Winners.
