Fantabulous Friday - Cindy Loo

Yippee...it's Friday and time for another Fantabulous Friday!
I'm so happy that you are here with us today.

Have you checked out this week's challenge here at FCCB yet?
If not...what are you waiting for? You still have time to enter a project and it's such a fun challenge!
Let me show you.....

Challenge #50 "Tree Time"
Create a project using any type of tree (i.e. palm, pine tree even a tree branch would do).

Click HERE to check out all the great projects already posted and to link up your project.

Thinking of trees made me think of spring and thinking of spring lead me to an old favorite...Cindy Loo.
This is a fun, sweet cartridge with some great Creative Features:
*Layer
*Border
*Frame
*Font
*Font Layer
*Shadow

Today, I would like to share with you a sweet baby girl layout that I have been working on for a friend.
I love the pink and green combo for little girls...so sweet!

The lacy borders along the sides of each page were made using the Border Feature found on page 70.
I cut each section twice and glued them together for a bit more stability.
That cute little tree is from page 66. The tree is cut at 5 inches and I used my Cuttlebug to do some embossing. I add Stickles for some shimmer and a bit of ribbon around the trunk adds the finishing touch.

For this page, I added the baby girl's monogram using the Font and Font Layer features.
The first and last letters are cut at 1 inch and the middle letter is cut at 1 3/4 inches. I added a few tiny gems to each letter for a bit of "girly bling".
The flourish beside the bottom photo mat is from page 40. This was cut at 1 3/4 inches and covered with Stickles.

Still in a girly mood, I moved on to my second project using this sweet cartridge. I knew I wanted to make a wall hanging of some sort for the baby's room. Now...this project doesn't have a tree. But...it does have leaves and it does have a birdhouse...and they both go with the tree theme...right? Work with me here people......

I started out with an 8 X 10 canvas panel and I painted it a light cream color. Then I added a dark brown mat, followed by a mat cut from that fabulous leaf-covered paper. I cut the birdhouse out twice at 7 inches and pop-dotted them together to get some dimension. The roof portion was run through my Cuttlebug and of course, I had to add some stickles to the heart at the top! The "welcome" sentiment is found on page 74 of the handbook and I cut this at 1 1/4 inches. I used my crop-a-dile to punch two holes at the top of the canvas and used some pink ribbon as my hanger. I love the look of the knotted ribbon on the front!

Now, it's your turn! If you haven't already created a project for this week's challenge...go get busy on those tree projects! If you have already entered your project, I would love to see something you have created using the Cindy Loo cartridge. Just leave me a comment with a link to your project and I'll come by for a visit! Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,

  9. Thanks so much for sharing this cartridge. I bought it a while ago and honestly have only used it once! It is just not really my style but I got a great deal on it so of course could not pass it up. Now that I have seen some projects made with it I am motivated to break it out and experiment!
