I am so glad you stopped by today. First off I'd like to wish all the Fathers out there A Happy Father's Day. I hope everyone of them feels special today they deserve it. Now, off to our spotlight:
Today we are Spotlighting Karen from over at kaleidoscopicsparkles.
.
She took a Top 5 win with this card.
She has some really cute stuff on her blog. She is an amazingly talented person. Here are a few of things I found.
She is not only talented but she is an amazing person. I have enjoyed her blog posts immensely.
Well it is time to get to know her better.
1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why?
I first dabbled into scrapbooking
about five years ago, primarily because I was drawn to the idea of preserving
memories in an artful, beautiful way. I thrive on creative expression, so I
quickly became enamored with the oodles of papers, embellishments, and design
options. As a lover of all things mini (mini marshmallows, cupcakes, macro
photography...), it wasn't surprising that my passion turned to making cards in
April of 2011.
2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-ablums, etc...)?
While I love them all, cards are my
favorite! There is something truly magical in giving someone a card 100%
designed for them with my very own heart and hands. I faithfully participate
each month in the I Feel the Love Project, where we have the privilege of using
our passion for a higher purpose. Making cards for complete strangers who are
mourning or suffering serious illness/injury is my driving creative
inspiration.
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
This is surely a crafter's toughest
question! If forced to choose only one, it would have to be rhinestones.
Sparkles (and chocolate) are complete and perfect happiness. :) If rhinestones
don't fit the theme, it shifts to pearls. (Can I add Copics, too? I am in love
with bringing black and white images to life!)
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
If I could only have one cartridge,
it would probably be Art Philosophy. There are so many options and styles
jammed into that one cart. The doilies are gorgeous and I love the variety of
focal images, tags, and projects. Create a Critter is also near and dear to my
heart! Both are must-haves.
5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
My spare time is spent with my
sweetheart, baking up confections, and wandering around with my camera. I soon
hope to return to dancing, so a lot of my spare time will shift to the dance
studio. :) Creative outlets of all sorts make my heart sing, whether it's
working to find the perfect angle for a photograph or planning a whimsical
dessert for upcoming summer delights.
Any other information you would like us to know about you?
I am sappier than a maple tree. :)
My work is a reflection of my heart, tailored to be a blessing in someone's
life. I strive to let my and God's love shine through every shimmery facet of
my blog and everyday life. My cards sparkle with heart and my cupcakes are
swirled with love. As I said in my very first post last year, my favorite types
of popsicles are the ones that come with two per wrapper... I'll always share
my popsicle with you. :)
Heartfelt thanks to FCCB for
featuring me today! It is an honor to be mentioned on this blog filled with so
many talented and sweet designers. It is truly special to me. :)
