Spotlight Sunday

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday!
We will be taking a break from spotlighting guest designers for a while as we would love to introduce you to our Fantabulous Cricut Design Team. We are so excited to have such talented designers showcasing their work here at FCCB!
Today we are spotlighting two “fantabulously” talented ladies.
Let me, first, introduce to you to Jennie from Earthy Scrap.
1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?

I started scrapbooking about two years ago when my daughter was born. I’ve always loved crafting and taking pictures but there are no crafters or scrap bookers in my family, so no one directed me to scrapbooking. I wish I could’ve discovered this hobby in high school.
2. What is your favorite type of project to make?

I love to make minis and altered items but I’m trying to do more layouts than anything else. I am crazy behind in my layouts!!

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?

Obviously the Cricut and to think that I was going to get the other machine (Thanks to the girls of Circle of Moms who talked me out of it). But I also LOVE!!! flowers and buttons.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?

My favorite cart is Simply Charmed but I also really like Rock Princess and Create a Critter.

5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?

Well my spare time is not that much I have a 22 months old girl that has all my time!! When she goes to sleep my time is all about scrapbooking but when I’m too tired even for that I like to watch You Tube to find new ideas.
Here are a few things that you will find on Jennie’s blog:

Now let me introduce to you to Larelyn from Handmade from My Heart.
1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting? Why?
I wanted to make a scrapbook to commemorate my youngest daughter's collegiate softball career and graduating with a master's degree from the University of Illinois. So, in December 2008 I bought my first baby bug and began my paper crafting journey. I completed that scrapbook (using only 2 font cartridges) and made another one for her older sister who also played collegiate softball and became a college coach. Then, I discovered the message boards, local scrapbook stores (and all the wonderful products they carry), classes, crops, and Youtube tutorials. I was on my way!
2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, LO, mini-albums, etc.)?
I truly love card making and small paper crafted gifts. I began scrapping after I retired so going back through years and years of pictures is a bit intimidating. So far, my scrapbooks only reflect current happenings. I enjoy making cards to share with family and friends, but I also participate in Cricut Card Fairies and Cricut Cards for Soldiers. Supporting these two groups is enormously rewarding.
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
When I began crafting I felt like I had to have it all!! Now finding the perfect piece of patterned paper thrills me. OK, I love pop dots and ribbon (and Stickles, and gems, and heat embossing, and, and, and . . .!).
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
How many people say, "whatever cartridge they're using at the time"? That's me. More than favorite cartridges, I have favorite cuts. I love the Indie Art butterfly and heart. I love the frames and flourishes on Storybook and the trees on Heritage.
5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting?
I began knitting again after I retired, but paper crafting has almost replaced that hobby. I love to read, solve Sudoku puzzles, and play the different puzzle games on the Nintendo DS (I guess I have a fear of my brain cells disappearing - LOL). I also enjoy evening television. My husband and I followed our daughters' softball careers and traveled a great deal while they were playing. We still follow college softball. Our oldest coaches at Texas Tech University and we try to watch them play whenever we can. I enjoy lunch dates with my BFF and I am my sister-in-law's chemo buddy. I also continue to do some educational consulting.
