I feel so honored to be asked to be on the Design Team of Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. The theme this week is "Birds". So I looked through my stash of cartridges to see which one I would like to feature. I chose Straight From The Nest. I couldn't wait to get this cartridge when they had it in Cricut rewards but I have found I only made one card with it and it didn't contain a bird. You can find my card here.
Straight From The Nest not only has birds, nests and cages, it has flowers, trees, a really good grass cut, filigree cuts, paisleys, etc. It has the following features: Layer/Shadow, Corner, Slider, Border, Phrase and Phrase Shadow. Right now, I'm asking myself, "Why have I not used this cartridge more?" Duh!!! Well I will have correct that.
I searched the Cricut Message Board to find some articles using SFTN and found these. You can see that not all used birds but used other designs from it.
This one is from Danielle's Corner Office and you can find Danielle's post here. I found several cards made with this cut. It seems to be a favorite.
Here is another from Simply Elegant Paper Crafts. June used the pennant and the border feature for this card.
Finally, Heather from Houses Built of Cards used the border feature on page 41 for her card.
I hope you have enjoyed our trek through Straight From The Nest and will come back next Friday to see what we can find to inspire our creativity. Until then, God Bless.
Peggy
