Happy Sunday All!
Today we have a very special treat for our spotlight. We are heading across the equator to Cambridge, New Zealand to meet "Kiwi Karen" from Rocky Road, Paper, Scissors! The Coriolis Effect may differ in the Southern Hemisphere, but one thing that is for certain, the common love for scrapbooking and chocolate has no separation of difference in both hemispheres! Her passion for both scrapbooking and chocolate is very evident throughout her blog, which just adds to the fun in her projects!
Her cards are just amazing as her layouts, which just honored her a recent Top 5 with this great tri-fold card!

"Kiwi Karen" recently came up with a clever idea that when she makes a layout, she will use the scraps from that project to make cards to add to her stash. It get's rid of the scrap stash that tends to build up and adds to a useful stash! Here is an example of that brilliant idea!

Now let's get to know this fabulous crafter a little more!
1. When did you start scrapbooking/paper crafting and why? I was looking through a friends scrapbooking album (after never seeing one before), and was really impressed with the idea of documenting photos with their stories. I have always taken lots of photos and recorded dates and details on the back of each photo plus kept memorabilia, so it was probably a logical step for me really.
2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e., cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc....)? Layouts are my main thing - I love scrapbooking photos of my kids and seeing a timeline of their lives as they grow up. Although I have made cards for quite a while, its only recently I’ve really started to enjoy it! Thanks to the Cricut, I feel inspired to make them.
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects? I don’t like flat layouts, so as long as there are bumpy and tactile elements I’m happy. So, buttons, twine and using embossing folders are my favorites.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge? Hmm, very hard to say with so many good ones out there. I’m going through a baby card making phase, so probably ‘Baby Steps’
5. What do you do in your spare time, when you are not paper crafting? Doing stuff with my two kids keeps me busy and happy. I love reading and doing gym classes. Oh and I’m very addicted to Pinterest! Check me out http://pinterest.com/kabel/
